Founded in 2012, SJTU Paris Elite Institute of Technology (SPEIT) is a joint institute between SJTU and four top French engineering schools (Ecole Polytechnique, TELECOM Paris,ENSTA Paris, MINES Paris). Over the past 12 years, SPEIT has been closely cooperating and exchanging with the French partner schools in teaching, scientific research, student exchanges and industrial incubation.
SPEIT has established three majors: Mechanical Engineering, Energy and Power Engineering, and Information Engineering, leveraging the strong mathematical and scientific foundation of French engineering education to conduct interdisciplinary innovative research.
SPEIT has a total of 73 faculty members, including 40% foreign teachers. There are over 600 students currently enrolled in undergraduate and master's programs, with all master's students advancing directly from the SPEIT's undergraduate program. The year 2024 marks the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and France. As a flagship project of Sino-French higher education cooperation, SPEIT warmly welcomes global talents to join us in pursuing development together!
include, but are not limited to:
01
Mechanical Engineering
Robotics, Intelligent Manufacturing, Intelligent Materials, Large Scale Scientific Facilities and Applications
02
Energy and Power Engineering
New Energy, Energy Storage Technology, Smart Energy, Digital Power
03

Artificial Intelligence, Wireless Communication and Internet of Things, Industrial Internet, Big Data, Cyber Security
04
Prospective Interdisciplinary
Research
Faculty at SPEIT closely collaborate with partner institutions in France, sister colleges at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and industry, conducting cutting-edge research in fields such as Information Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Energy and Power Engineering, and establishing multiple research platforms.
01
Relying on the "System Control and Information Processing" key laboratory established by the Ministry of Education, and aiming for efficient collaboration in field-level industrial heterogeneous networks, the platform has successfully developed time-sensitive networking (TSN) technology and its core devices that support large-scale data interaction, overcoming key technical bottlenecks. This technology is currently providing crucial technical support for major equipment development, including software-defined satellites and automated testing in large aircraft assembly.
02
Building on the National Key Laboratory for Mechanical Systems and Vibration, the platform conduct cutting-edge fundamental research on new theories, methods, and technologies in system dynamics for intelligent equipment in both defense and civilian sectors. This research provides crucial technical support for the development of intelligent equipment and technological advancements in spacecraft and manufacturing equipment.
03
Relying on the National Key Laboratory for Neutron Science and Technology, the center is committed to advancing research on neutron large scientific devices in the fields of new material development and non-destructive characterization technology. The center actively promote the application of neutron technology in aeronautics and astronautics, nuclear power defense, chemical engineering, and fundamental research.
04
In response to the national new energy strategy, the center focuses on breakthroughs and industrialization of core hydrogen energy technologies. The research is dedicated to areas such as hydrogen utilization—fuel cells, hydrogen production—electrolysis, and the electrochemical production of clean fuels—ammonia. The center actively promotes the optimization and upgrading of the global energy structure.
